Router Key setup

Add optional custom key distribution to a Register Now entry panel.

1. Prepare an entry panel

Create a panel in Register Now with an entry size of 1 to 50. Choose 1 (solo) to distribute a key for one match. Router Key belongs to this panel. Both the owner and people with editor access can add, manage, and delete it. Viewer access does not allow these actions.

Make sure FN-Tools BOT is in the server. It needs Manage Roles and Manage Channels to create its dedicated channels and configure access. Also allow View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Read Message History.

2. Add custom key distribution

  1. Open Configure custom key distribution on the panel. The link is also available immediately after creating an entry panel.
  2. Check the selected Entry panel.
  3. Select an existing Key distribution channel. Participants must be able to view it, and the BOT must be able to send messages there.
  4. For multiple matches, select the assignment method for round 2 onward under Opponent matching. No opponent setting is needed for one match.
  5. Press Add.

See the Router Key overview for assignment examples.

3. Open Discord

When the status becomes Ready, open the newly created operator channel in Discord.

Log channelSee who configured or published rounds and who received a key for each match

Participant announcements are posted in the Key distribution channel you selected. No new distribution channel is created. Its name, location, and permissions are preserved.

The operator channel is available to the panel owner, shared editors, members with Register Now’s configured operator roles, and Discord server administrators.

If Discord setup pending or Retrying Discord sync persists, check that the BOT is in the server and has the required channel permissions.

Continue with Rounds and key publication.

Changing participants

After round 1 is saved, the operator panel displays the recipient count. Apply later additions and removals as follows:

  1. Finish adding or removing entries in Register Now.
  2. Press 参加者を更新 (Update participants) on the Discord operator panel.
  3. Check 次の試合の配布対象 (Next round recipients).

If a draft exists, its assignments are updated. Saved keys and the announcement remain. Otherwise, changes apply to the next round you create.

If the recipients change, scheduled publication is cancelled. Review the round and publish or schedule it again. If there are no changes, assignments and the publication schedule remain unchanged.

Published rounds keep their recipients and keys. Added participants can check their keys once the updated round is published. Removed participants can still view their keys for the currently published round.

With “Keep the same opponents”, returning participants keep their matches wherever possible. Replacements and moves between entries may change their opponents.

If an update fails because of missing members, duplicate participants, or another error, fix the entries in Register Now and try again. A failed update leaves the recipients unchanged. If there are zero recipients, add participants and refresh before publishing.

Changing entry size

The number of members per entry determines the number of simultaneous matches. It cannot change after round 1 is saved. To change the number of matches, archive or delete Router Key, change the entry size, and add a new Router Key.

Changing the distribution channel

Open Configure custom key distribution, select a Key distribution channel, and press Change distribution channel. The currently published announcement is also posted there. The previous channel and messages remain, but their old buttons are disabled.

Ending distribution

Archive ends key distribution and cancels publication schedules while preserving operator channels, logs, and past announcements. You can add a new distribution to the same entry panel.

Archived distributions appear under Archived panels. They cannot be resumed; add a new distribution to start again.

Delete removes the settings, recipients, rounds, keys, and dedicated channels created by the BOT. It is also available for archived distributions. Your selected existing distribution channel and Register Now entries remain. Participant channels created by older versions of the BOT are removed unless they have been selected for reuse as a distribution channel.

Wait for the BOT to finish Archiving or Deleting. Before deleting the entry panel itself, delete its Router Keys, including archived distributions.
