Replay Download

Replay Download

This tool downloads a Fortnite server replay (.replay file) directly from Epic Games’ servers. You give it a Session ID, it hands you the file.

Before you start — supported matches only

Only BATTLE ROYALE: TOURNAMENT SETTINGS, RELOAD: TOURNAMENT SETTINGS (custom game), and official event (Tournament) matches are supported.

Regular Solo / Duos / Trios / Squads, Reload mode, OG mode, and other creative map replays cannot be downloaded here.

Server replays are typically deleted by Epic after about two weeks. Updates or patches can cause them to be removed sooner. Download as soon as possible after a match ends.

What is a Session ID?

A Session ID is the unique identifier for a specific match. It looks like this:

a1b2c3d4-e5f6-7890-abcd-ef1234567890

Both the hyphenated form (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx) and the plain 32-character form (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) are accepted.

Where to find it

  • fortnitetracker.com  Events / Matches pages (official tournaments only; see below)
  • From a .replay file of the same match analyzed in Replay Analyzer
  • From a CSV file generated in the ESports folder when participating as an observer (see below)

fortnitetracker.com can provide Session IDs for official tournament matches only. It cannot provide Session IDs for BATTLE ROYALE: TOURNAMENT SETTINGS or RELOAD: TOURNAMENT SETTINGS custom games.

  1. Open a player’s profile page on fortnitetracker.com
  2. Select the Events tab and choose the tournament
  3. Select the target match from the match history
  4. Click Copy Match ID on the match detail page — this copies the Session ID

Finding a Session ID in an ESports CSV file (observer players only)

When participating as an observer, a CSV file for each match is generated in the following folder:

%localappdata%\FortniteGame\Saved\ESports

Example generated filename:

EventScores-CK-nnnn-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.csv

The 32-character portion immediately before .csv (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx in the example above) can be used as the Session ID (Match ID) for that match.

In tournament matches, you can spectate for a while after dying, but if you die early you will be kicked from the server before the winner is determined. Your local replay only captures up to the point you were kicked. If you analyze that replay in Replay Analyzer, it will show you the Session ID — which you can then use to download the full server replay recorded all the way to the winner.

How to download

1. Open the tool

Go to /en/replaydownload.

2. Paste the Session ID

Click the Session ID field and paste the ID. Either format works.

3. Click “Download Replay File”

The download starts immediately. It can take up to about 1 minute — don’t close the tab while it’s working.

4. Save the file

Your browser will prompt you to save a .replay file. Put it somewhere easy to find — you may want to open it in Replay Analyzer for score tallying, or load it into the Fortnite game client to spectate a match you didn’t personally play.

Next step

Analyze in Replay Analyzer

Upload the .replay file to Replay Analyzer to review all placements, elimination info, and party composition, then tally scores across multiple matches and export images or CSV.

→ Replay Analyzer guide

Watch in the Fortnite game client

Place the downloaded .replay file in Fortnite’s replay folder to watch a match you did not personally participate in from inside the game.

Replay folder location (Windows):

%localappdata%\FortniteGame\Saved\Demos
